Sleeping Through Christmas
Reina had a brief encounter with Santa last weekend at a department store. Unfortunately, she slept through the entire meeting (or it’s her way of telling Santa she wants more naps for Christmas). Several of my co-workers say this should not then count as her first visit to Santa Claus. Nonetheless I’m posting the picture (and it’s quite large!).
1st Halloween
Reina’s 1st Halloween was lots of fun. Aunt Trinh got her a wonderful pum’kin costume and we trick-or-treated to about 5 houses. Reina wasn’t scared or hesitant in any way and by the second house was getting the hang of grabbing a candylicious handful of loot (BTW, thanks for the candy, Reina! Love, Daddy)!

There are a few more pictures in the flickr gallery on the left!
Reina is Walking!
Last night at 8:38pm, little Reina took her first steps! Actually she has taken a few accidental steps in the past week but this was definitely coordinated and with purpose. Luckily, Geeta was on the scene with the video camera and caught all the action. Initially we thought she took 2 steps. However, careful and expert examination of the tape reveals not 2, not 3, but 4 steps! The complete video (with Reina-cam Super Slo-Mo instant replay ™) is available in the Vids section.
Miss 3000!
Reina went to her first baseball game last night and boy, was it special. Coming on the same day at Frank Thomas’ 500th homer (War Eagle!), Reina got to see Craig Biggio’s 3000th hit!
She was a trooper at the ballpark and the crowds and noise didn’t seem to phase her a bit. The only question that remains is how do you top this first game?
New Video: The Rollover
Just posted some new video of Reina rolling over for the first time. I posted it yesterday, but then Geeta informed me that the date of the big event was wrong!
Anyway, check the Vids sections and watch!
Reina’s Growing Up
It’s happened. Our Little Darling has outgrown her first pair of socks. She is now 23 inches long and weighs in at 8 pounds. Every day she is doing new things. Two weeks ago she started smiling and vocalizing and this week she has discovered the mobile above her cradle. Now Mommy can wind up the music box that goes with it and Reina is entertained long enough for me to brush my teeth. It is so fun to watch her eyes track the things around her and hear her laugh with such glee.
